Good Nerd Gallery is a contemporary art gallery and cultural hub rooted in curiosity and the belief that art should be experienced, discussed, challenged, and enjoyed by everyone.
Good Nerd is a labour of love born from the friendship of Erin Dunham and Rafal Tomczuk, two longtime Hamilton residents, community-minded entrepreneurs, and art collectors brought together by a shared passion for art and culture. Their experience as collectors, alongside years of supporting local initiatives and charitable causes, helped shape a vision for a space where artists, collectors, and audiences could come together.
The gallery began as a nomadic project, presenting pop-up exhibitions and creative projects in unconventional spaces, including street art and mural initiatives. That experience shaped Good Nerd’s approach: art does not need to be confined to traditional spaces, and engaging with it should never feel exclusive or intimidating.
Today, Good Nerd has a permanent urban home while maintaining the experimental spirit of its beginnings. We present emerging and mid-career artists from Hamilton and across Canada, with a focus on diverse practices, perspectives, and voices within contemporary art. Through rotating solo and group exhibitions, curated thematic projects, and multidisciplinary programming, the gallery provides artists with a platform to experiment, develop their practices, and introduce their work to new audiences.
As artists, collectors, and community members ourselves, we understand the gallery as part of a larger ecosystem—one that connects artists with collectors and audiences while creating opportunities for discovery and dialogue. Good Nerd supports artists at different stages of their careers and welcomes a range of backgrounds, experiences, and disciplines.
At its heart, Good Nerd is more than a place to display art. It is a meeting place for artists, collectors, curators, art lovers, curious neighbours, and the broader community—a place to discover new work, exchange ideas, listen to music, share a drink, and occasionally make questionable decisions.
Through exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, performances, music, and community events, Good Nerd invites people to encounter contemporary art in ways that are engaging, welcoming, and unexpected.
We take artists and their work seriously. We just don’t think experiencing art has to be intimidating, exclusive, or overly formal.
Good Nerd Gallery — contemporary art, community, curiosity, and a little bit of chaos.
